Perfectionism sucks.  It is an especially dick-ish quality when it manifests as an inner commentary about how other people OUGHT TO BEHAVE and how they OUGHTN’T DEVIATE FROM CLEARLY PROSCRIBED BEHAVIOR.

I hereby announce a new initiative, lest the dick-ishness overtake me: I strive to be an Erfectionist.  I snapped this photo on Union Street in Brooklyn.

  1. Thanks Jacqueline! My school report from 1968(!) says I’m a perfectionist… now I know how this comment has been puzzling me. I own up to an inner ought-to-behave commentary… it belongs to the dark side of coaching. And so less effective than love-and-peace! Now I too strive to be an Erfectionist.
